DentalWorks in Tega Cay, South Carolina - Horrible, worst dentist and staff!

They have a scam going on trying to milk patients for money, they told me I needed deep cleaning, charging me $500 beyond what the insurance paid, the cleaning was no better than a normal cleaning at a real dentist office. Avoid this place!

DentalWorks in Rock Hill, South Carolina - Long wait time, Lied to, Overpriced

On Tuesday night, I woke up with a horrible toothache stemming from genetic Pyorrhea. I went to the website and requested an emergency appointment, making it clear I needed a tooth extraction immediately. I finally got a call on Thursday to make the appointment for Friday morning and was asked for my insurance information over the phone so that it could be verified prior to my arrival. Now mind you, the closest office is an hour and a half drive from where I live. On Friday morning, I arrive and check-in. After being seated to fill out a plethora of paperwork, I hear the front desk calling my insurance to verify my benefits-FIRST RED FLAG-I had been asked the day before for this information so it could be verified PRIOR to my arrival. I get back into the "treatment" room. Explain to the hygienist that I had Pyorrhea and I needed to have two teeth pulled. She insisted on a full mouth x-ray. Then took a look at my teeth and questioned me about which teeth I needed pulled, after I had already told her once. I told her again after she asked "Are you sure it isn't this one?" I assured her that while I was aware the one she was asking about also had an issue, it was NOT the one that needed to be addressed today. The dentist then comes in, never introduces herself, takes a look and says "We don't normally do procedures on the day of initial consultations."-SECOND RED FLAG-I had already had to wait 3 days without being able to eat or drink without significant pain and told them that. Then the office manager comes in with my "estimate". I was told that it was going to cost me over $800 to have 2 teeth pulled, including the full mouth x-ray. I told her that was unacceptable and that prices like that should have been disclosed to me up front. She said they couldn't give prices over the phone. I said that they could have given me a minimum price and she said that person making my appointment did that. -THIRD RED FLAG-she said that the minimum was $300/tooth. I would have never made the appointment if that had been disclosed up front as that is not something I could afford. End of story....BAD NEWS...all they are after is the all mighty daughter and do not give a hoot about whether their patients can afford the procedures or not.

Their accounting system is impossible to understand.....especially if you have more than one insurance, use CareCredit & pay cash. The amounts are not credited by procedure. My husband and I have different insurances. They bill as "family" and it is impossible to tell...

I went in Feb for a check-up and cleaning. They did full on x-rays on me, I'm under 18, and you're really not suppose to do that. They told me I had 14 cavities, and said I need a crown put on. I knew something was wrong so I told my mom and got a second opinion, I...
